Dublin – Ireland – October 2015, Writers Tears Copper Pot Irish Whiskey has won gold at The Irish Whiskey Awards held in Dublin last week. These awards celebrate distillation in Ireland and are judged entirely blind by members of the Irish Whiskey Society and also the Celtic Whiskey Club. The awards which celebrate distilling in Ireland are wholeheartedly supported by the industry, who put the best of Irish forward for this competition.
Aidan Finnegan, Distillery Manager, was to say, “It was great to come away with gold in a highly competitive class, seeing and tasting the quality of the entries at the awards really shows the level of quality among the Irish whiskey category.”
Writers Tears is produced by Walsh Whiskey Distillery who recently announced the arrival of the Pot Stills as a momentous move with the development of their world-class world-class whiskey distillery in Ireland Ireland, located on the 18th century, Royal Oak estate along the banks of the River Barrow in County Carlow. Once open in early 2016, the distillery will have an annual production capacity of over 650,000 cases (two and a half million litres of pure alcohol (LPA’s) or 8 million bottles ), to be distributed internationally.
